This is a wonderful book. I did read the first one, The Mentor- an amazing book, but this one stands on it's own. The characters are very real and the situations totally believable. It is heartwarming but also intense, a rare combination in fiction to my way of thinking. I bought 2 of these to give to college aged relatives, but would highly recommend it for anybody. Very well written.
